We went to the Gasthaus Gerlach for the first time today. The background was that we are looking for a wedding location for our wedding and that it is advertised on the website, among other things. The service is perfect. Kind and courteous. You can't express any criticism. We waited 60 minutes for the salads. The main courses were there after 90 minutes. The starters, which can also be ordered as a main course, are advertised on the menu - for an extra charge of € 6 (I think). My sister-in-law did this and ordered the goat cheese wrapped in bacon. Bread and chips were also served. Unfortunately, she wasn't fed up with it. The cream schnitzel was okay. The entrecote was unfortunately very salty. I couldn't have eaten it. Conclusion: if you have time and are not too hungry, you can go out to eat there. Certainly you can also spend cozy and sociable evenings there. However, we hoped for more based on the positive reviews. Pity!

Restaurant rating: If you give 5 stars here, you should actually deduct one star from all other restaurants that have been rated 5 stars in the past. If you order cordon bleu and then you hear it knocking, you know that you won't be served frozen schnitzel here! The clarified butter in which it was fried could also be tasted really good. The cream sauce with mushrooms ordered for this was also not a convenience product, very fresh and clearly differentiated in color from the powder sauces of the other restaurants. The mushrooms were fresh and still really crisp. And the portions were decent! The owner herself served and at the table, absolutely personable person! This restaurant is the absolute winner in terms of friendliness, taste, ambience and price!

Great food, cold beer, amazing staff. We had an event there a couple weeks ago and they broke their back to make sure it went off flawlessly, even with COVID restrictions. We plan on doing much more there in the future.

Everything OK. Normal inn nothing special. Food was ok, prices are actually like everywhere when you go out to eat. We were the only ones and despite CORONA we could eat inside.

Very nice restaurant and great for group events. They have a bar inside which is available during events in the event room upstairs. The open space design makes it kid friendly. Even at an event with a few dozen people, all the kids were safely playing and running around without causing TOO much trouble.

It was again very nice, comfortable and the food was also very good. We love this place. The couple Raddatz is very pleasant and hospitable. I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience.

Incredible walnut, goat cheese and bacon salad was to die for! Fish and chips reminded us of home in Cambridge but the crime de resistance was the sticky toffee pudding!! Decadence in a bowl!! Owners Judith and Martin are lovely!! The cook Martin knows what true British fare is all about!! Don’t miss out on this lovely little British restaurant that has German delights as well!

The food was pretty good and the room where we had our farewell was a good size for everyone.

This restaurant is fastly becoming my favorite restaurant. Family friendly atmosphere, great service and excellent food. The fish plate was amazing. I most definitely will be back soon!!!

What an amazing experience yet again. The salmon and other fish delights were so crispy and flakey. Baked to perfection. The bread reminded me of some of the best New York has to offer. Would recommend again and again.

Extremely comfortable and good food

We celebrated our wedding here because we have always loved coming here. The food was delicious as always and the service was just great. I highly recommend a party here. The ballroom is very nice and the team fulfills every wish. We got so many offers and support in advance in the planning and also during the celebration, the team was very accommodating. I can’t praise this place enough!!! Very friendly owners, food is excellent (I’m very partial to the dill salmon) dining both inside and out very clean. All in all I am here once a week and will continue to do so GREAT Place/PEOPLE!!!

A lovely place to relax after a hard days work, Martin is the best barman ever 😁 A young talented cook who obviously enjoys his work. I cannot recommend this family owned restaurant any higher. Food, service and atmosphere is fantastic. Our favorite place for dinner! The owners and entire staff are always welcoming and warm. We’ve tried a lot of different dishes, and while we have our personal favorites - we’ve also never had a dish we didn’t enjoy! Tried some recent menu additions - the steak & ale pie, and the chicken pie (pictured)- and highly recommend both!

As a family, we were spontaneously in the inn. We would be welcomed very friendly and served very nicely. A blackboard with the 2/3 course menu was placed at the table, which I liked very much and which was exactly what I ordered, which tasted very good. My daughter had a vegetarian steak that was flavorful and juicy. There was also a rump steak that was fried exactly to the point. The amount told us about the history of the inn, which was nice of him. There is enough parking space directly behind the house and there is also a pleasant playground. We will definitely stop there again.

My family and go there for a meal every time we are in town. The food is delicious and the service is very friendly and caring. They even have a kids corner with books, colouring pens and games to entertain the little ones. It’s always a pleasure to go there!

Great restaurant and has been for several years. They are always very accommodating, even with big groups at the restaurant. The food is amazing.

Amidst a 2 week European adventure this was one of the highlights. Driving from Luxembourg to Munich we stopped for dinner here and I'm so glad we did. It was a bit later in the night, so it was quite quaint inside. The food was great, the staff was even better. After our meal we stayed for several minutes shooting the breeze with the staff. Definitely recommended!!

Good food. Extremely helpful and courteous staff. The prices were quite reasonable as well. Easy parking and even well marked as we located it amidst a rainstorm. We were given a bit of grief for using a credit card, but that seems common in Germany vs our parties native Finland, US, and Australia; however they did allow us to pay via credit card and all was well! Well recommended!

The food and drink is exceptional! Gerlach has an inviting atmosphere and excellent service. The menu has many fine dining options but the prices are very affordable. This is my favorite restaurant in Germany.

I went to Konken with my family to discover the home of our forefathers before they came to the US. While taking pictures of the town square across the street from Gastehaus Gerlach, I met Martin the owner and he welcomed me the village in excellent English. Martin invited my group in and treated us like we were family. We met his mother and it turns out we may be long distant cousins. The warmth and hospitality of Gastehaus Gerlach is only bettered by the food. We had a great meal with impeccable service. Thanks Martin and Judith
